Changes [Snapper]

A non-exhaustive summary of changes for each release of Snapper.

[v0.322]

  • Fix Reset on Enter crash (thanks Azmi)

[v0.321]

  • Improved HUD Info display for assisting with the8bitbeast's new BK bit clip setup

  • Removed button hints on L

  • Quick fix for a bug with the "second visit" variant of CCW-Spring

Snapper main changes:

  • Add insta-load on L+DDOWN (quick load a saved position without a reset)

  • Add Extended Menu (press D-UP to use):

    1. Save Slots: Choose from 8 slots to save snaps.

    2. Level Select: Choose level, room, variant, and mumbo form and warp with them.

      • Note: supersedes "Take Me There"

    3. Experimental settings: See here for more info.

  • Restore a better camera on load

  • Restore Mumbo form on load

  • Restore movement state on load (fly/climb/swim/talon trot)

  • Restore normal items on load (health, feathers, eggs etc.)

  • Restore permanent items on load (jiggies, mumbo tokens, moves etc.)

  • Restore most types of game flags on load (witch switches, CCW Eyrie, CC Clanker height, TTC sandcastle water etc.)

  • Fix moonwalk bug when loading (occurred in Spiral Mountain and 5 other places)

  • Prevent Bottles yoinking your moves right after you get them in Spiral Mountain

  • Prevent warp with the level entry disc if you save and (insta)load back onto it

  • Show "puzzle assembling" animation when warping to the main area of a level with Level Select

Input Display changes:

  • Modify joystick info display style

Reset on Enter changes:

  • FLAG: MMM Witch Switch Lair Jiggy glass unbroken

  • FLAG: Set flower, Gnawty & Eyrie states in CCW

  • Always wipe strict global flags (this might have side effects, untested)

  • Always show the Jinjo cutscenes during the final Grunty fight (even if RoE is off)

  • Work in tandem with Level Select

Extras:

  • Allow skipping the "game over" and "first time in lair" cutscenes on an empty file

  • Fix a bug with v0.2a's intro cutscene skip patch

and more.

[v0.2a] Playing around with possibilities

  • Change keybinds

  • Load and reset the stage with a single button press

  • Load a snap made in a different level

  • Add button hint screen (hold L)

Misc:

  • Fly Anywhere module set to ON by default

  • Speed Control module modified to not trigger when holding L

  • Intro cutscene is skippable even on an empty file
